Tiny energy tip

Somewhere recently I read that good iced coffee is made with cold water - like sunshine tea. I've been drinking room temp coffee for 25 years - ever since toddlers taught me that you can't finish a cup of coffee while it's hot anyway. My coffee maker is 1025W - yikes. I make coffee for myself about 3 times a week. If I remember to turn the coffeemaker off when it's ready so it doesn't stay on "keep warm" that's about 39 hours a year or 40 KWh - $5.29 a year at my exorbitant electricity rate.

Anyway, it turns out coffee made with cold water is good - and easy. Draw your own conclusions.
