Pretty good news

Mother Earth News this month features an excellent article on Fuel Economy and Ecology: Green Means Go. I'm happy to say that Jane, my manual transmission Toyota Corolla, purchased 5 years ago, still ranks highest in mpg of all cars except hybrids. She also ranks very low for air pollution and greenhouse gases. Add to that the fact that I only drive about 5,000 miles a year and I'm pretty proud of plain Jane. If I can get in the habit of checking tire pressure, I'll be able to move on to other energy conservation issues in my life.
